If another state was added the the United States another star will have to go on the flag. How would the star arrangement need to be to look even on the flag?
If Puerto Rico becomes the 51st U.S state, would the U.S flag be altered to include 51 stars?
How many ways to arrange the flags?
geometry symmetry

Designs are always subjective. Also, this may not even be a mathematics question.

Arrange 50 starts in 5 triangles of 10 stars each, and arrange them in a 5-pointed star. Put the remaining star in the center.

In a comment to an answer of the first question you link, someone points to a Wikipedia entry that shows "possible future designs" for 51+ stars. There are three arrangements of 51.
