Scientists discovered new shape scutoid while studying epithelial cells. epithelial cells view from outside Before it was considered that they have shape of prisma but then they realized some curves in the shape that can't be made by combining prismas. So they had to have mathematicians involved in process and mathematicians discovered that shapes of these cells weren't prismas but scutoids scutoids. And of course there appeared many articles with title "Mathematicians discovered new shape". And "Discover of new shape" does not make any sense to me.

Is this the proper way of saying this? Did somebody discover the triangle too? Isn't it easy to draw an unnamed shape and name it? What is the difference?
